About This Item
Description
The Hotone Ampero Control EC-4 turns an Ampero processor or any MIDI-equipped rig into a full pedalboard controller, with four programmable footswitches, 100 banks, 5-pin MIDI OUT/THRU, USB MIDI and Bluetooth MIDI.
Each footswitch can send up to 16 MIDI messages (32 using A/B groups), with different messages for press and hold actions. Every bank stores the settings of all four footswitches and both CTRL/EXP jacks, and messages can be routed to separate or combined MIDI outputs. Setup is done in the dedicated mobile app, which includes ready-made templates for many devices.
Why guitarists choose the Ampero Control
- Four footswitches with press and hold actions give you far more live control than a passive dual footswitch, including bank navigation across 100 banks (00-99).
- Dedicated guide for the Ampero family: connect Ampero Control's MIDI OUT/THRU into Ampero's MIDI IN, load the "Ampero (System)" templates, and add Ampero Switch or Ampero Press to the EXP/CTRL jacks.
- Two EXP/CTRL jacks accept expression pedals up to 10 kΩ max pot resistance or momentary footswitches, so Ampero Press and Ampero Switch plug straight in.
- Three ways out: 5-pin MIDI, USB MIDI and Bluetooth MIDI, for multi-effects, loopers, amps, synths, backing-track apps, e-drums and stage lighting with MIDI input.
- Flexible power: runs from 9-18V DC or 5V via USB, so it fits whatever supply is already on your board.
Controls
- 4 footswitches – programmable, with separate press and hold messages.
- 3-digit LED display – shows MIDI message info and Bluetooth connection status.
- 100 banks (00-99) – navigate large patch libraries without scrolling one at a time.
- 2 x EXP/CTRL jacks – accept expression pedals (max 10 kΩ) or momentary footswitches.
- Bluetooth pairing – hold footswitches 2 and 3 to enter pairing mode for the mobile app.
- Expression calibration – hold footswitch 4 at power-up until "PdL" appears.

FAQ
Which Ampero devices does Ampero Control work with? Any Ampero with a MIDI IN jack, such as the original Ampero (MP-100): connect Ampero Control's MIDI OUT/THRU to its MIDI IN. Ampero One has no MIDI IN; it can be reached through its USB port with a USB OTG cable and a Bluetooth MIDI bridge app.
What is the maximum expression pedal resistance it supports? 10 kΩ on both EXP/CTRL jacks, which suits Ampero Press.
Can I use Ampero Switch with Ampero Control? Yes. Connect it to EXP/CTRL 1 or 2 with a TRS cable and set that jack's Type to "Dual FS" to add two more switches.
Does it need a power adapter or can I run it from USB? Both are supported: 9-18V DC center-negative via the DC jack, or 5V DC via USB, drawing a maximum of 100 mA.
Can it receive MIDI over Bluetooth or be controlled by other gear? No. Bluetooth MIDI is output only, and Ampero Control cannot currently be controlled by other MIDI devices.
How many banks can I store? 100 banks, numbered 00 through 99; each holds the settings for all four footswitches and both EXP/CTRL jacks.
How do I calibrate an expression pedal? Hold footswitch 4 while powering on until "PdL" appears, fully raise and press the pedal at least three times, then press footswitch 4 to exit.
