About This Item

An analog overdrive with a separate clean boost, each on its own footswitch. Level, Gain, Bass and Treble shape the drive stage, the Boost control sets how much clean gain the second stage adds, and a Bright switch lifts the top end.

Power is 9 V DC on a negative-centre 2.1 mm barrel, or a 9 V battery, at roughly 16 mA. True bypass means it can sit anywhere in the chain without colouring the dry signal.

Description

An overdrive plus dedicated clean boost in one enclosure — the Moller 2 delivers T-Rex's classic bluesy, dynamic overdrive with a switchable boost that pushes leads over the top.

Which T-Rex Moller is this?

The Møller 2 is the updated version of T-Rex's overdrive named after Danish guitarist Knud Møller. It keeps the original's classic bluesy overdrive — dynamic tones with just a little dirt around the edges — and adds a Mix control, a sturdier Bass Boost toggle and easier-to-read knob graphics.

Why guitarists choose this pedal

  • Two stages — Overdrive plus dedicated Clean Boost — controlled by separate footswitches.
  • Warm, dynamic breakup that responds to your picking.
  • Mix control blends clean signal back in with the overdrive for clarity and punch.
  • Clean Boost adds 0–20 dB and sets a solo level whether or not the overdrive is engaged.
  • Bass Boost toggle for extra low end.
  • 9V DC operation, with a 9V battery option.

Controls and switches

  • Tone — broad tone control across a wide range of frequencies.
  • Gain — how hard the overdrive stage clips.
  • Mix — balance between distorted and clean signal; lower settings let more clean signal through.
  • Level — master output volume.
  • Boost — clean boost level, 0–20 dB.
  • Bass Boost toggle — adds low-end weight.
  • On/Off footswitch — engages the overdrive.
  • Boost On/Off footswitch — engages the clean boost.

Connections & Power

  • Mono input and output jacks.
  • 9V DC, center-negative; accepts 8.5–12.5V DC.
  • Current draw 16 mA — a trivial load on any isolated supply.
  • 9V (6F22) battery capable — battery life 5–8 hours.
  • Power supply not included.
  • Works especially well early in the chain (guitar → tuner → Moller 2 → modulation → delay/reverb → amp).

FAQ

What kind of overdrive is the Moller 2? A classic bluesy overdrive with dynamic response rather than a voicing of a specific amp. The Mix control lets you keep more of your clean signal in the sound.

Can I use the boost on its own for a cleaner solo bump? Yes — the two footswitches are independent, so you can run only the clean boost (up to 20 dB), only the overdrive, or both together.

What does the Mix knob do? It balances distorted and clean signal. Turn it down to let more of the clean guitar through for clarity, up for full overdrive.

What does the Bass Boost switch do? It is a toggle that adds low-end weight to the overdrive — useful with thin-sounding single-coils or small amps.

Battery life? Around 5–8 hours from a 9V battery. Unplug the input jack when not in use to avoid draining the battery.

Warranty? 2-year manufacturer warranty.
