About This Item
Description
An all-in-one pedalboard for acoustic guitar and other acoustic string instruments with a pickup or microphone. The SoulMate Acoustic combines a FET input preamp, the effects acoustic players reach for most, a stereo looper and a fast chromatic tuner, and feeds the PA directly through balanced XLR outputs.
What is the SoulMate Acoustic?
It is a purpose-built acoustic board: input preamp with gain, impedance and phase controls, Compressor, Modulation (classic chorus/detune), 3-band parametric EQ, warm Delay with tap tempo, Hall reverb with Shimmer, a post-effects Boost, a 5-minute stereo looper, an ultra-fast chromatic tuner and automatic feedback suppression. Dual stereo outputs on 1/4" and XLR make it the entire chain between the instrument and the front-of-house mixer. It is the acoustic-focused counterpart to the electric-guitar SoulMate.
Why guitarists choose this board
- Complete acoustic toolbox on one board — no separate patch cables between pedals.
- FET input preamp with gain control, selectable 1 MΩ / 10 MΩ input impedance for pickups or microphones, and a phase switch for taming feedback and phase issues.
- Automatic feedback suppression: a notch filter that detects feedback and cuts it.
- Dual stereo outputs — 1/4" L/R and balanced XLR L/R with ground lift — go straight to a PA or recording interface without a separate DI box.
- 24-bit / 48 kHz effects processing with 1 ms latency.
- Stereo looper with up to about 5 minutes of recording time and a fast chromatic tuner on board.
Sections and controls
- Input preamp — gain control, impedance switch (1 MΩ / 10 MΩ), phase switch.
- Compressor — evens out picking dynamics.
- Modulation — classic chorus / detune.
- 3-band parametric EQ.
- Delay — warm delay with tap tempo footswitch.
- Reverb — Hall reverb with a Shimmer effect; Shimmer can be controlled by an expression pedal.
- Boost — post-effects level boost on its own footswitch.
- Looper — stereo, record/playback and stop/clear footswitches.
- Tuner — ultra-fast chromatic tuner.
- Feedback killer — automatic feedback suppression.
- Optional master volume control from an expression pedal.
Connections & Power
- 1/4" instrument input.
- Expression inputs for Shimmer and for master Volume.
- 1/4" outputs (L/R) and XLR outputs (L/R) with ground lift.
- 12V DC center-negative power supply included; operating range 11.5–12.5 V DC — do not substitute a 9 V pedal supply.
- Current draw up to 560 mA at 12 V — well beyond a typical 100 mA isolated pedal-supply output.
- No battery operation.

FAQ
Can I use it with an electric guitar? It is designed for acoustic string instruments with a pickup or microphone; the preamp, EQ and effects are voiced for that. For electric guitar, the standard T-Rex SoulMate is the intended model.
Do I still need a DI box for the sound engineer? No — balanced XLR outputs (L/R) with ground lift are built in, so the board can feed the PA or mixer directly.
Can I use my own 9 V power supply? No. It needs 12 V DC, center-negative, at up to 560 mA; the correct supply is included.
Is there a tuner? Yes — a built-in, ultra-fast chromatic tuner. There is no separate tuner output.
How long is the looper? About 5 minutes of stereo recording (up to 5.8 minutes maximum).
Does it store presets? No — it works like a board of stompboxes: each section is switched on and off, and settings are set with the knobs rather than saved as presets.
Does it help with feedback on stage? Yes — automatic feedback suppression detects and notches out feedback, and the phase switch helps with low-frequency feedback problems.
Warranty? T-Rex offers a 2-year warranty on its products.
