About This Item
Description
Want a full bass effects chain without a pedalboard full of boxes? The Dapper Bass strings together a boost/compressor, an envelope filter, a bass amp simulator, an all-analog octave and an analog chorus in one strip, with an FX loop for adding outboard pedals and a balanced XLR out for the mixer.
Why bassists choose the Dapper Bass
- An FX loop sits between the BASS AMP and OCTAVE modules, so you can drop in a favorite external pedal exactly where it matters most in the signal path.
- The all-analog monophonic OCTAVE module adds sub-octave weight without the digital tracking glitches some bassists dislike.
- A parallel THRU output lets you send an unaffected signal to a second amp, rack processor or interface at the same time as your processed tone — or record a dry track for re-amping.
- Hold the BOOST COMP footswitch to mute the unit and access the built-in tuner without unplugging.
- Balanced XLR output with a ground/lift switch goes straight to the mixer, so DI'ing your bass doesn't need a separate box.
Controls and footswitches
- TUNER — large, bright display; silent tuning while active.
- BOOST COMP — set-and-forget boost/compressor knobs; hold the footswitch for the built-in tuner (mutes output).
- DIRTY Q — vocal-style envelope filter with sensitivity and volume controls plus a fuzz switch.
- BASS AMP — gain and 3-band EQ for amp-style tone shaping.
- OCTAVE — dry, one-octave-down and two-octaves-down level knobs, all-analog monophonic tracking.
- CHORUS — analog chorus with a single depth knob.
- Per-module ON/OFF footswitches with status LEDs; the FX loop has no footswitch of its own.

FAQ
Does the Dapper Bass have an FX loop? Yes, positioned between the BASS AMP and OCTAVE modules so an outboard pedal can sit exactly there in the chain. It is always in the path and has no separate footswitch.
Is the octave effect digital or analog? All-analog monophonic octave tracking, on the OCTAVE module, with separate dry, one-octave-down and two-octaves-down levels.
Can I send a dry signal to a second amp? Yes, the THRU output is a parallel, unaffected output separate from the main processed output.
How do I access the tuner? Hold the BOOST COMP module's footswitch; the unit mutes and the tuner activates.
What power supply does it need? A 9V DC center-negative adapter rated for at least 85 mA. A 9V power supply is included.
Can I run it straight into a mixer or audio interface? Yes. The balanced XLR output works as a built-in DI, with a ground lift switch for hum from ground loops.
Does DIRTY Q only do filter sweeps? It is an envelope filter with sensitivity and volume controls, and a fuzz switch adds grit to the filtered sound.
