Description

Want to build layered loops without a laptop? The VLP-200 gives you two independent stereo loop tracks, a 24-bit recording engine and a built-in drum machine, controlled with just 2 footswitches.

Why looping guitarists and bassists choose the VLP-200

  • Two independent LOOP tracks (LOOP 1, LOOP 2) let you build and layer parts instead of a single mono loop — run them in parallel (FREE) or switch song parts between them (SERIAL).
  • Up to 4 minutes per loop and roughly 7 hours of total storage across 99 projects means you rarely run out of room.
  • A built-in drum machine with 100 stereo rhythm patterns in 16 styles, plus a metronome and drum sync, keeps loops locked to a beat without a separate drum pedal.
  • 1/8in TRS MIDI IN/OUT lets it sync with other MIDI-capable gear on your board.
  • USB-C for importing and exporting audio and projects and for firmware updates (Windows and macOS).

VLP-400 vs VLP-200

The VLP-400 is the larger 4-switch model with 32-bit recording, more storage, assignable loop effects and a dedicated drum footswitch. The VLP-200 here keeps the same dual-looper concept in a smaller two-switch, 24-bit unit with 1/8in TRS MIDI.

Controls and footswitches

  • 2 footswitches: LOOP 1, LOOP 2, each with a four-color status LED.
  • Knobs: LOOP 1 and LOOP 2 level, master LEVEL, RHYTHM/BPM, MEMORY/SAVE (press and hold to switch between auto and manual recording).
  • DRUM/TAP button; SERIAL/FREE and INST/MIC switches.
  • Integer-multiple overdub doubling and auto-record; no assignable loop effects.

Connections & Power

  • 2 x 1/4in TS inputs (L/R) with an INST/MIC toggle on INPUT L.
  • 2 x 1/4in TS outputs (L/R) for mono or stereo rigs.
  • 1/8in (3.5 mm) headphone output.
  • CTRL jack for an external footswitch.
  • 1/8in TRS MIDI IN/OUT; USB 2.0 Type-C.
  • 9V DC center-negative, 500 mA; power supply sold separately, no battery operation.

FAQ

How many loop tracks does the VLP-200 have? Two independent stereo tracks, LOOP 1 and LOOP 2, each with its own footswitch. They can play together (FREE) or one after another as song parts (SERIAL).

How much can I record? Up to 4 minutes per loop, with roughly 7 hours of total storage across 99 projects.

How many drum rhythms does it have? 100 stereo patterns in 16 styles, plus a metronome.

What power supply do I need? A 9V DC center-negative adapter rated for at least 500 mA. It is not included, and the pedal does not run on batteries.

Can I plug in a microphone? Yes — switch INPUT L to MIC mode. It also has a headphone output for practice.

Can I sync it with other gear? Yes, via 1/8in TRS MIDI IN/OUT. Loops and projects can also be moved to and from a computer over USB-C.

What's the difference from the VLP-400? The VLP-400 has 4 footswitches, 32-bit recording, more storage, assignable loop effects, a combo XLR input and 5-pin MIDI; the VLP-200 is the smaller 2-switch, 24-bit unit with 1/8in TRS MIDI.
