About This Item

The Eventide H90 Harmonizer is a dual-engine floor multi-effects pedal built on an ARM architecture derived from the flagship H9000. Every Program runs two of its 74 algorithms at once, and two inserts can be placed independently in your rig so one effect can sit in front of the amp while the other sits in the loop.

The H90 measures 13.6 x 17.0 x 6.8 cm and runs on a 12V DC supply drawing up to 1000 mA. It suits electric guitar, bass, vocals and other instruments.

Description

The H90 runs two Eventide algorithms at the same time and lets you place them anywhere in your rig, so a granular reverb can sit in the amp loop while a polyphonic pitch shifter stays out front, and Programs change with spillover.

The H90 is Eventide's two-engine Harmonizer: 74 algorithms, two of them running at once inside every Program, four inputs and four outputs, and two inserts that can be placed anywhere in the chain including an amp effects loop. The library covers all 52 H9 Max algorithms plus 22 newer designs such as Polyphony, Prism Shift, VocalShift, PolySynth and the granular Cosmic Web, Glitch, GrainMod and Stutter. Choose the H90 when you want two effects and complex routing; choose an H9 when you want one effect at a time in a smaller enclosure.

Why guitarists choose the H90

  • Two algorithms run simultaneously in every Program, in series or in parallel, which replaces two separate pedals and the patching between them.
  • Two inserts (two mono or one stereo) can be placed independently anywhere in the signal chain, so one half of the H90 can sit in front of the amp while the other lives in the effects loop.
  • 74 algorithms cover reverb, delay, modulation, pitch shifting, harmonizing, granular, synth and distortion effects.
  • Spillover between Programs, adjustable from 0 to 30 seconds, keeps reverb and delay tails alive across a change.
  • Dual routing processes two independent stereo signals, and the four inputs and four outputs suit four-cable-method rigs without an extra switcher.
  • H90 Control edits Programs, presets and User Lists from macOS or Windows over USB-C, or from macOS and iPad over Bluetooth.

Controls

  • Three footswitches Program changes, Preset and insert bypass and tap tempo; up to six footswitch functions in PERFORM mode with external aux switches.
  • OLED display, five push knobs and seven LED buttons Show both running algorithms and give direct access to their parameters, with Quick Knobs and a PERFORM HotKnob.
  • Exp/Ctl 1 and 2 Two 1/4" TRS jacks for expression pedals, aux switches of up to three buttons each, or CV.
  • Routing Series or parallel algorithms, Insert routing for external pedals, or Dual routing for two separate signal paths.
  • Built-in tuner

Connections & Power

  • Inputs 1-4 and Outputs 1-4 1/4" TS mono jacks, instrument or line level.
  • MIDI In and MIDI Out/Thru 5-pin DIN.
  • USB Type-C USB 2.0 for control, updates and MIDI.
  • Power 12V DC center-positive, 1 A, 5.5 / 2.5 mm barrel. Typical 9V pedalboard outputs (center negative, a few hundred mA) are not suitable; use the included universal supply or a 12V center-positive output rated 1 A or more.
  • Bypass Selectable per setup: Relay bypass connects the inputs directly to the outputs with physical relays (true bypass, no tails); DSP bypass keeps the signal in the processor so tails ring out. In Dual routing, Relay bypass is available on Path 1 only. A global Kill Dry setting covers parallel-loop use.

FAQ

Can the H90 really run two effects at once? Yes. Every Program loads two of the 74 algorithms and runs them together, in series or in parallel, and you can place the two inserts at different points in your rig.

Will a 9V pedalboard supply run the H90? No. The H90 needs 12V DC center-positive at 1 A on a 5.5 / 2.5 mm barrel. Typical 9V pedalboard outputs (center negative, a few hundred mA) are not suitable, so use the included universal supply or a 12V center-positive output rated 1 A or more.

Is the H90 true bypass? Bypass is selectable. Relay bypass connects the inputs directly to the outputs with physical relays (true bypass, no tails), while DSP bypass keeps the signal in the processor so tails ring out. In Dual routing, Relay bypass is available on Path 1 only.

Do delay and reverb tails survive a Program change? Yes. Spillover between Programs, adjustable from 0 to 30 seconds, keeps reverb and delay tails alive across a change.

Can I use it for the four-cable method? Yes. With four inputs, four outputs and two independently placed inserts, the H90 suits four-cable-method rigs, and Dual routing processes two independent stereo signals.

How do I edit it from a computer or iPad? H90 Control edits Programs, presets and User Lists from macOS or Windows over USB-C, or from macOS and iPad over Bluetooth.
