Which Eventide delay is this?
TimeFactor is the dedicated delay member of Eventide's Factor floor range: ten delay algorithms, twin delay engines, a looper and 100 presets, with real 5-pin MIDI and true analog bypass. Rose is the smaller, single-purpose modulated bucket-brigade delay if you want one voice and six knobs instead of a library. UltraTap handles rhythmic multi-tap delays and pad swells rather than classic echo. If you want the TimeFactor algorithms plus modulation, pitch and reverb in a compact box, that is the H9 Max Dark, and the current H9 Harmonizer Gen 2 carries the same lineage forward.

Power and pedalboard compatibility
Runs on a 9V DC center-positive supply through a 5.5 mm / 2.5 mm barrel plug and draws up to 500 mA. Center positive is the opposite of most BOSS-style pedalboard outputs, so use the included Eventide adapter or a board output that can be set to center positive and deliver 500 mA. Bypass is selectable between true analog bypass and buffered bypass, and mute and effect-tail behaviour are selectable too, which is what you want when the pedal sits in an amp effects loop.

FAQ
Is TimeFactor center positive or center negative? Center positive, on a 5.5 mm / 2.5 mm barrel plug at 9V DC and up to 500 mA. That is the opposite of most BOSS-style outputs, so use the supplied adapter or a board output you can flip to center positive.
Can it run two different delays at the same time? Yes. TimeFactor is a twin delay: two delay engines run simultaneously, which is how you get independent left and right times, ping-pong and dual-rhythm patches.
Does the looper record over MIDI clock? TimeFactor syncs and generates MIDI clock and has a dedicated tap tempo, so delay times follow the tempo source you choose.
Does it have 5-pin MIDI? Yes, MIDI In and MIDI Out/Thru on five-pin DIN sockets, plus MIDI over USB Type B. USB also handles software updates.
Will my repeats cut off when I bypass it? Only if you want them to. Bypass is selectable between true analog bypass and buffered bypass, and tails behaviour is selectable separately.
