Description

The Hotone Ampero Control EC-4 turns any Ampero-family processor into a full pedalboard controller, with four assignable footswitches, 100 banks, MIDI OUT/THRU, and Bluetooth MIDI to Ampero II Stage.

Which Hotone footswitch or controller do you need?

Model Footswitches MIDI Expression input Power Best for
Ampero Switch 2 momentary No No Passive, none required Ampero, Ampero One, Ampero Mini, Ampero II Stomp, Ampero Control
Ampero Switch+ (FS-2) 2 momentary No No Passive, none required Ampero II Stomp, Ampero II Stage, Ampero II
Ampero Control (EC-4) 4 assignable Yes – MIDI OUT/THRU + Bluetooth MIDI 2 × EXP/CTRL, max 10 kΩ 9–18V DC or 5V USB Program changes, banks, and expression routing across the Ampero family
Pulze Control (EC-2) 2 assignable Yes – Bluetooth, USB-C, TRS jack 1 × CTRL/MIDI, max 25 kΩ Built-in rechargeable battery, 12h Cable-free control of a Pulze amp, or a 25 kΩ expression pedal

If your host device only needs two extra momentary switches on a cable, choose Ampero Switch (for Ampero, Ampero One, Ampero Mini, or Ampero II Stomp) or Ampero Switch+ (for Ampero II Stomp, Ampero II Stage, or Ampero II) – both include an 80 cm TRS cable. If you need banks, program changes, or MIDI routing, step up to Ampero Control (EC-4) for wired/Bluetooth control of Ampero-family units, or Pulze Control (EC-2) for wireless, battery-powered control of a Pulze amp.

Why guitarists choose the Ampero Control

  • Four footswitches with four documented footswitch modes give you far more live control than a passive dual footswitch, including bank navigation across 100 banks (00-99).
  • Dedicated official guide for the Ampero family: "How To Use With Ampero Family Products" documents wiring Ampero Control's MIDI OUT/THRU into an Ampero's MIDI IN, plus dedicated USE WITH AMPERO SWITCH and USE WITH AMPERO PRESS sections.
  • Two EXP/CTRL jacks accept expression pedals up to 10 kΩ max pot resistance or momentary footswitches, so Ampero Press and Soul Press II are drop-in compatible.
  • Wireless option: Ampero II Stage can be paired with Ampero Control over Bluetooth (hold footswitch 2+3 on Ampero Control, then select it in Stage's Search Device menu) – no MIDI cable required for that pairing.
  • Flexible power: runs from 9-18V DC or 5V via USB, so it fits whatever supply is already on your board.

Controls and switches

  • 4 footswitches – assignable, with four documented footswitch working modes.
  • Screen – shows current bank/patch and mode.
  • 100 banks (00-99) – navigate large patch libraries without scrolling one at a time.
  • 2 x EXP/CTRL jacks – accept expression pedals (max 10 kΩ) or momentary footswitches.
  • Recessed Reset button – SIM-needle reset for troubleshooting.
  • Bluetooth pairing (hold footswitch 2+3) – wireless MIDI pairing with Ampero II Stage.

Power and pedalboard compatibility

Runs on 9-18V DC centre negative, or 5V DC via USB, drawing a maximum of 100 mA. Bluetooth working range is officially stated as ≤5 m. Compatible expression pedal maximum pot resistance is 10 kΩ on both EXP/CTRL jacks.

FAQ

Which Ampero devices does Ampero Control officially support? Hotone's dedicated "How To Use With Ampero Family Products" guide documents wiring MIDI OUT/THRU into Ampero's MIDI IN; Ampero II Stomp's manual calls its MIDI IN "Perfect for Ampero Control"; and Ampero II Stage can be paired over Bluetooth.

What is the maximum expression pedal resistance it supports? 10 kΩ on both EXP/CTRL jacks – matching Ampero Press, Soul Press II, Wong Press, Tuner Press, and Ampero II Press, all of which use a 10 kΩ expression pot.

Can I use Ampero Switch with Ampero Control? Yes, Hotone's official guide includes a dedicated USE WITH AMPERO SWITCH section describing connection via either EXP/CTRL jack as external MIDI footswitches.

Does it need a power adapter or can I run it from USB? Both are supported: 9-18V DC via the DC jack, or 5V DC via USB, drawing a maximum of 100 mA.

How does Bluetooth pairing with Ampero II Stage work? Hold footswitches 2 and 3 on Ampero Control to enter pairing mode, then select Ampero Control from Ampero II Stage's Search Device menu.

How many banks can I store? 100 banks, numbered 00 through 99.

Works well with

Ampero Press (SP-30), Ampero Switch, Ampero II Stomp (MP-300), Ampero II Stage (MP-380)
