Description

The Hotone Ampero II Stage MP-380 is Hotone's flagship floorboard processor, and as of firmware V1.7.0 it is the first Hotone device that natively loads NAM A2 amp captures right on the unit.

Eight footswitches, up to five scenes per patch, a 5" touchscreen with three quick-access knobs, full XLR I/O with a mic preamp, Bluetooth audio and control, and an 8-in/8-out USB audio interface make it a complete rig for stage, studio and practice.

Why guitarists choose the Ampero II Stage

  • Native NAM A2 support on the device itself: firmware V1.7.0 (July 2026) added a NAM effect module that loads NAM A2 files natively in Lite format – the first Hotone product to get this. NAM is processor-intensive, so it works best as the first module in a new patch.
  • 460+ effects across 16 effect modules with 12 simultaneous slots and 300 patches give you room to build full-song presets without running out of routing options.
  • 8 footswitches with multicolor halo LEDs (six programmable plus a Mode switch for Patch/Stomp modes) and up to 5 scenes per patch.
  • Full XLR I/O: two balanced XLR outputs with ground lift plus an XLR/TS combo mic input with a 52 dB preamp and 48V phantom power, so you can run vocals or an acoustic mic through the same unit.
  • Two EXP/CTRL jacks made for Ampero II Press, for expression and momentary footswitch control.
  • Bluetooth 4.2 dual-mode: stream audio from your phone, edit from the iOS/Android app, or use Bluetooth MIDI – including wireless pairing with Ampero Control, no MIDI cable required.
  • Sound Clone captures the tone of amps, cabinets, dirt pedals and boosters into the CLONE module.

Controls and switches

  • 5" 800 x 480 touchscreen – full patch/effect editing on the unit.
  • 8 footswitches – patch and scene change, effect on/off, tap tempo; the Mode footswitch toggles Patch/Stomp modes and bypasses the unit when held.
  • VOLUME knob, MENU/VALUE knob and 3 quick-access knobs.
  • Power switch and input-mode selectors – INPUT L (3 modes), XLR/TS combo Input R (5 modes; Line or Mic with an XLR cable).
  • Mic preamp – up to 52 dB gain with switchable 48V phantom power for Input R.
  • Ground-lift switch – on the XLR outputs, to eliminate hum from ground loops.
  • Ambient multicolor LED strip.

Connections & Power

  • Input L – 1/4" TS, E.GT 1 MΩ / A.GT 4.7 MΩ / LINE 10 kΩ.
  • Input R – XLR/TS combo with mic preamp; XLR 5 kΩ.
  • Outputs – 2 x 1/4" TRS unbalanced, 2 x XLR balanced with ground lift (1 kΩ), 1/8" headphones (47 Ω).
  • FX loop – stereo send and return on 1/4" TRS jacks (return 100 kΩ).
  • EXP/CTRL 1/2 – 2 x 1/4" TRS for expression pedals or momentary footswitches.
  • MIDI – 1/8" TRS MIDI IN and MIDI OUT/THRU; standard 5-pin MIDI gear connects through a TRS-to-5-pin converter cable. Bluetooth MIDI is also supported.
  • Aux In – 1/8" stereo (10 kΩ).
  • USB – USB 2.0 Type-C, USB Audio 2.0, 8 in / 8 out, 44.1-192 kHz, reamp support.
  • Power – 9-18V DC center-negative, up to 1.4 A at 9V. Use the included power adapter. No battery operation.

FAQ

Does Ampero II Stage really load NAM A2 files on the device itself? Yes. Firmware V1.7.0 added a NAM effect module that natively loads NAM A2 files in Lite format directly on the unit – the first Hotone product to get on-device NAM A2 support.

What software do I need to update to get NAM A2? Use Ampero II software V1.4.0 or later for the firmware update; Ampero II Setup V1.5.1 matches firmware V1.7.0 and adds NAM A2 support in the CLONE module, and Ampero II Stage Mobile V1.2.2 adds it in the app.

What is the difference between Ampero II Stage and Ampero II Stomp? Stage has a larger 5" screen, eight footswitches instead of three, XLR I/O with a mic preamp and phantom power, two EXP/CTRL jacks, Bluetooth and the onboard NAM module, at 1895 g. Stomp is the smaller, lighter (1050 g) board-mount unit with 5-pin MIDI and TRS balanced outputs instead of XLR.

Does Ampero II Stage have a built-in expression pedal? No. Use the two EXP/CTRL jacks with an external expression pedal such as Ampero II Press, which is made for this unit.

Can I control Ampero II Stage wirelessly? Yes. It supports Bluetooth 4.2 dual-mode with Bluetooth MIDI, and pairs with Ampero Control by holding footswitches 2+3 on the controller and selecting it in Stage's Search Device menu.

What power supply does it need? 9-18V DC center-negative, drawing up to 1.4 A at 9V. A power adapter is included, and using it is recommended.
