About This Item

Hotone Tuner Press combines a volume/expression treadle with a built-in HD tuner display accurate to ±0.01 cent, a switchable internal buffer, and a HI/LOW input-impedance switch, in the tallest chassis of Hotone's Press family.

In the box: Tuner Press pedal. Power: 9V DC centre-negative adapter required, max 70 mA (no battery option). MPN/GTIN: 888506040092. ASIN: B0CTTRJCR7. Manufacturer: Hotone.

Description

The Hotone Tuner Press SP-30T is the only pedal in Hotone's Press family with a built-in tuner, so you get volume, expression, buffer, and accurate tuning without a separate tuner pedal eating board space.

The footswitch flips the treadle between volume and expression control, and in volume mode rocking the treadle all the way back gives you silent tuning on the HD LCD screen. An active volume design keeps your tone intact, a switchable buffer helps drive long cable runs, and independent volume and expression output jacks let it work with stompboxes and multi-effects alike. The lightweight aluminum alloy shell, steel connecting shaft and non-slip frosted surface are built for stage use.

Why guitarists choose the Tuner Press

  • Built-in HD LCD tuner with Chromatic and Strobe modes; strobe mode reaches ±0.01 cent pitch-detection accuracy, and the reference pitch is adjustable from 430 to 450 Hz.
  • Switchable buffer circuit (internal two-position switch) lets you add buffering for long cable runs, or leave it off.
  • HI/LOW input-impedance switch (1 MΩ / 10 kΩ): HI for guitar or bass at the start of the chain, LOW for effects and devices mid-chain or at the end.
  • USB port in the switch compartment for firmware updates from a Windows or Mac computer.
  • A "click" footswitch gives clear tactile feedback when you switch between VOL and EXP.

Controls and switches

  • Footswitch – toggles the pedal's working mode between volume (VOL) and expression (EXP).
  • EXP/VOL indicator – shows the current working mode at a glance.
  • HI/LOW switch – sets input impedance to 1 MΩ (HI) or 10 kΩ (LOW) depending on your source.
  • DISPLAY (T+S / T / T+P) – T+S shows the tuner only when the treadle is heeled back and leaves the screen dark otherwise; T keeps the tuner on at any position; T+P shows the tuner when heeled back and the real-time treadle position otherwise.
  • TUNER MODE – selects Chromatic or Strobe tuning.
  • PITCH – sets the reference frequency (430–450 Hz).
  • Internal buffer ON/OFF switch and USB port (in the switch compartment, two Phillips screws).

Connections & Power

  • INPUT – 1/4" TS, 1 MΩ / 10 kΩ.
  • OUTPUT – 1/4" TS, 1 kΩ output impedance.
  • EXP OUT – 1/4" TRS, 10 kΩ.
  • DC IN – 9V DC center-negative, 5.5 x 2.1 mm barrel; maximum 70 mA. No battery operation; power supply sold separately.
  • USB – firmware updates (inside the switch compartment).

FAQ

Does Tuner Press need external power? Yes, a 9V DC center-negative adapter (5.5 x 2.1 mm) rated for at least 70 mA is required. It has no battery compartment, unlike Soul Press II and Wong Press, and the adapter is not included.

How accurate is the built-in tuner? Strobe mode reaches ±0.01 cent; Chromatic mode is also available, and the reference pitch is adjustable from 430 to 450 Hz.

How do I tune silently? In volume mode, rock the treadle all the way back: the volume is off and the tuner appears on the screen (in T+S and T+P display modes; in T mode the tuner is always shown).

What does the HI/LOW switch do? It sets the input impedance to 1 MΩ (HI) for guitar or bass plugged straight in, or 10 kΩ (LOW) for stompboxes and other devices placed before it.

Is it true bypass? No bypass switching is offered – the footswitch selects VOL or EXP. The internal buffer can be switched on or off with the two-position switch in the compartment.

Can I update the tuner firmware? Yes, connect the USB port inside the switch compartment to a computer and run Hotone's update software.
