Description
The Hotone Verbera NC-200 is a stereo convolution reverb pedal that loads real impulse responses instead of relying only on algorithmic reverb math, with a second algorithmic XR engine, IR cloning, Freeze and full MIDI/expression control.
Verbera ships with 120 IRs – real spaces, classic spring and plate units, and Hotone originals – and stores up to 1024 IRs and 200 presets. The XR algorithmic reverb can be layered over the convolution engine, and the onboard IR cloning function captures the reverb of another pedal or space as a custom IR, with tails up to 20 s mono or 10 s stereo.

Controls and switches
- Preset knob – stepped, push to confirm; browses up to 200 presets.
- IR knob – stepped, push to confirm or re-sort; browses the IR library.
- Decay, Atk/Pre-DL, Tone/Mod and Mix – reverb parameters with LED rings; the Alt button switches them between the convolution layer (orange) and the XR layer (blue).
- Alt/Menu button – toggles the parameter layer; press and hold for the settings menu.
- Clone button – starts IR capture.
- 2 footswitches – Preset mode steps backward and forward through presets; Control mode gives effect on/bypass (left) and Freeze (right). Press both to change mode.
- Color LCD screen for presets, IRs and settings.

FAQ
What makes convolution reverb different from a normal reverb pedal? Convolution reverb loads a real impulse response captured from an actual space or hardware reverb, then applies its sonic fingerprint to your signal, instead of approximating a space with algorithmic math the way most stompbox reverbs do. Verbera also has an algorithmic XR layer you can blend in.
What power supply does it need? 9V DC center-negative rated at 1 A (1000 mA) – more current than a typical analog pedal, so use the included adapter or an isolated outlet rated for 1 A. It can also be powered over USB-C (5V, 2 A).
Is it stereo? Yes. The input accepts mono (TS) or stereo (TRS) with a Mono/Stereo/Auto setting, and there are two outputs for stereo or a single TRS stereo output.
How do I connect an expression pedal? Set the MIDI In/EXP jack to EXP in the menu and use a cable with a 1/8" (3.5 mm) TRS plug on the Verbera end and a 1/4" TRS plug on the pedal end. Each preset can store its own expression assignments.
Can I use MIDI with Verbera? Yes. One 3.5 mm TRS jack is MIDI Thru, and the other works as MIDI In (or EXP); USB-C also carries MIDI. A TRS-to-5-pin DIN adapter is needed for standard MIDI gear.
Can I capture my own reverb pedal? Yes. The Clone function records another reverb pedal or a real space as a custom IR, up to 20 s mono or 10 s stereo. Shimmer and heavily modulated reverbs cannot be captured.
What software manages presets and IRs? Neon Collector for Mac and Windows, over USB-C: IR uploads, user WAV imports, preset management and firmware updates. USB-C does not carry recording audio; record from the analog outputs.
Do reverb tails continue when I bypass it? Trails can be switched on or off in the settings.
