Which ISP Decimator is this?
ISP's noise-reduction line has two generations. The compact micro pedals — Deci-Mate and Deci-Mate G — use the earlier analog Decimator circuit. The full-size Decimator X and Decimator X G String use the newest patented Integration Release Window technology (US Patent 11,641,183) that keeps long sustained notes decaying naturally.
- vs. Deci-Mate G: The Deci-Mate G adds a send/return loop so noise reduction can track your guitar output directly through other pedals or an amp's effects loop; the Deci-Mate Micro has no loop and only tracks its own input signal.
- vs. Decimator X: Decimator X is a full-size pedal using the newer patented Integration Release Window technology for smoother release on long sustained notes; the Deci-Mate Micro is smaller and uses ISP's earlier Decimator circuit.
- vs. Decimator X G String: Decimator X G String is a full-size pedal with four jacks (Guitar In/Out plus Dec In/Out) and the newest X technology; the Deci-Mate Micro is a two-jack compact pedal on ISP's earlier circuit.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a power supply?
Yes — the Deci-Mate Micro does not accept a 9V battery and needs an external 9V DC center-negative adapter with at least 40mA. Any standard pedalboard supply works.
Where do I put it in my signal chain?
Immediately after your gain stages (overdrive, distortion, or high-gain preamp). Time-based effects such as delay and reverb belong after the Deci-Mate Micro so their tails are not truncated.
Does the Deci-Mate Micro have a loop?
No. If you need a send/return so the noise reduction can track your direct guitar signal while cleaning up other pedals or an amp's effects loop, the Deci-Mate G is our pedal with that feature.
Is the bypass true bypass?
Yes, the pedal uses a true-bypass mechanical footswitch, so your tone is unaffected when the pedal is off.
Is it the same as the older ISP Decimator II?
The Deci-Mate Micro squeezes an ISP Decimator circuit into a compact enclosure with 90+dB noise reduction; it uses the earlier-generation adaptive-release approach rather than the newer Integration Release Window technology found in the Decimator X pedals.
