About This Item
Description
Blossom takes the green-channel Country-mode compression circuit from Jackson Audio's flagship Bloom and packages it into a compact, affordable optical compressor with a clean blend and a tilt EQ for quick tonal shaping.
Which Jackson Audio compressor is this?
Blossom is the compact, single-voicing derivative of the Bloom V2 compressor, using the exact same optical compression circuitry as Bloom's green/Country channel in a smaller, simpler enclosure with no MIDI, EQ presets, or boost section. If you want six switchable compression modes, active 3-band EQ, an onboard boost/sustainer, and MIDI recall, choose Bloom V2. If you want Bloom's Country-mode compression character in the smallest, most affordable package, choose Blossom. For a completely different, dual-independent-circuit approach to compression, see the Hour Glass.
Why guitarists choose the Blossom
- Uses the exact same compression circuitry as Bloom's Country mode, at a fraction of the size and cost.
- A clean BLEND control mixes in your dry signal alongside the compressed tone for natural-sounding sustain.
- A tilt EQ shifts the compressed tone from warmer to brighter with a single knob instead of a multi-band EQ.
- Accepts both 9V and 18V DC, so it runs from standard pedalboard power without a dedicated adapter.
- A simple four-knob layout keeps compression fast to dial in without menus or presets.
Controls and switches
- VOLUME — Master output level; keep at 3 o'clock or lower when using high compression to avoid clipping.
- COMP — Sets compression amount; clockwise increases compression.
- BLEND/MIX — Mixes compressed and dry signal; fully counter-clockwise is full compression, fully clockwise is full clean.
- EQ — Tilt EQ flat at 12 o'clock; clockwise raises treble and cuts bass, counter-clockwise raises bass and cuts treble.
Power and pedalboard compatibility
Runs on a 9-18V DC center-negative supply (do not exceed 18V) drawing a maximum of 20mA. No battery operation is published for this pedal.

FAQ
How is Blossom different from Bloom V2? Blossom uses the same Country-mode compression circuit as Bloom V2 but drops the additional compression modes, active EQ, boost/sustainer section, and MIDI control in favor of a compact, affordable four-knob layout.
What does the tilt EQ do? A single knob shifts the compressed tone's balance between bass-forward and treble-forward without a multi-band EQ.
Can Blossom run on 18V? Yes, it safely runs on 9-18V DC center negative; do not exceed 18V.
Does Blossom have presets or MIDI? No. It is a fixed single-voicing compressor adjusted entirely with its four knobs.
Why keep VOLUME at 3 o'clock with high compression? Jackson Audio recommends this to avoid clipping the output stage when the COMP knob is turned up significantly.
What is the bypass type? Jackson Audio has not published the exact bypass topology for Blossom.
