About This Item

The Jackson Audio Broken Arrow V2 is a comprehensive MIDI overdrive platform that pairs a flat-response, TS-808-inspired drive with a fully independent MOSFET boost, giving guitarists level-matched clipping voices and a clean, transparent lift from a single pedalboard-friendly stompbox.

Runs on a 9V MAX DC center-negative supply with a minimum current draw of 150mA. No battery operation is published for this pedal. MPN: broken_arrow_v2_web. GTIN: 302128186070. ASIN: B088RMXBLP. Backed by Jackson Audio's 5-year VIP Warranty.

Description

Broken Arrow V2 pairs a flat-response, TS-808-style soft-clipping overdrive with a fully independent MOSFET boost circuit that can run on its own, giving you four level-matched clipping voices and a clean, transparent lift in a single MIDI-controllable pedal.

Why guitarists choose the Broken Arrow V2

  • A flat-response overdrive avoids the fixed mid-hump of classic Tube Screamer-style circuits for a more amp-like drive.
  • The boost circuit lives in its own true bypass loop, so it works as a standalone clean boost even with the drive off.
  • Four level-matched clipping presets and four boost EQ voicings give sixteen drive/boost combinations.
  • A 4-step GAIN CYCLE (25/50/75/100%, think verse, chorus, bridge, solo) lets you step through gain changes from the footswitches or MIDI.
  • Full MIDI control over drive, boost, clipping, gain cycle and boost EQ recalls your exact tone from a pedalboard controller.

Controls and switches

  • VOLUME — Master output level for the overdrive circuit.
  • BOOST — Sets the amount of independent MOSFET boost.
  • GAIN — Sets maximum overdrive gain, steppable in 4 stages via GAIN CYCLE.
  • BASS / MIDDLE / TREBLE — 3-band active Baxandall-style EQ, +/-12dB per band with center detents, mids at 660Hz.
  • DRIVE and BOOST footswitches — Engage the overdrive and boost circuits independently; hold either for over 1 second for program mode, or press both together for GAIN CYCLE.
  • Internal STND/ALT jumper — STND gives a silent boost knob; ALT gives slightly more gain with some crackle when the BOOST knob is turned.

Clipping and boost voices

  • Green — Classic Screamer: two symmetrical silicon diodes.
  • Magenta — Asymmetric: three asymmetric silicon diodes.
  • Blue — Symmetrical: four symmetrical silicon diodes.
  • Amber — Vintage Marshall: symmetrical red LED clipping with more headroom.
  • Boost EQ presets: Yellow Bright, Green Mid, Aqua Tailored, Blue Full Range.

MIDI and power

  • MIDI is received on the ring of the TRS MIDI jack; a MIDI DIN-5 to TRS cable is required (not included). Ships on MIDI channel 1; the channel is set at power-up.
  • CC #1 Drive on/off, CC #2 Boost on/off, CC #3 clipping preset (1-4), CC #4 Gain Cycle (1-4), CC #5 Boost EQ (1-4).
  • Runs on a regulated 9V DC center-negative supply rated at 150mA minimum. Do not use 18V.

FAQ

Can I use the boost without the overdrive? Yes. The boost circuit sits in its own true bypass loop and works independently of the drive circuit, so it can push the overdrive, another pedal or your amp.

How many clipping options does Broken Arrow V2 have? Four level-matched clipping presets on the drive side (Classic Screamer, Asymmetric, Symmetrical, Vintage Marshall LED) and four EQ voicings on the boost side, selectable in program mode or over MIDI.

What does GAIN CYCLE do? Pressing both footswitches together steps the GAIN knob setting through 25/50/75/100%, shown by DRIVE LED brightness.

How does MIDI connect? MIDI arrives on the ring of the TRS MIDI jack through a MIDI DIN-5 to TRS cable (sold separately); CCs 1-5 control drive and boost on/off, clipping, gain cycle and boost EQ.

What is the internal STND/ALT boost jumper? An internal jumper that switches the boost between a silent (STND) mode and the ALT MOSFET mode, which adds about 5% more gain with some knob crackle.

What power does it need? A regulated 9V DC center-negative supply rated at 150mA or more; do not run it at 18V.
