The legendary magnetic-drum delay, reborn — T-Rex's Binson Echorec recreates the mechanical drum echo heard on classic recordings by David Gilmour and Hank Marvin, using a real rotating drum and physical recording and playback heads.

Controls and switches
- Echo Volume — mix of the wet echo signal.
- Record Head Selector — Rec 1 (short) or Rec 2 (long); Head 2 sits at three times the spacing of Head 1.
- Drum Speed — ±20% speed variation for pitch and rhythm modulation; the center position matches the original unit's speed. Slower speeds add low end, faster speeds brighten the repeats.
- Record Level — how hard the signal is recorded onto the drum; high settings add compression, overdrive and fuzz. The Magic Eye shows input strength and saturation.
- Playback Heads 1–4 — individual on/off selectors; combine any set for multi-tap patterns.
- Repeat — feedback amount; controls how many times the pattern repeats.
- Repeat/Swell Switch — standard delay or reverb-like overlapping echoes. Swell works independently of the playback selectors; with all heads off, the swells come without repeats.
- Echo Tone — rolls off the high frequencies of the repeats.
- Bypass Switch — engages the effect; hold it for more than 2 seconds in bypass to stop the drum.
- Playback Level Trimmers — rear-mounted per-head trim controls, factory pre-set, adjustable with a small flat screwdriver.

Care
- Clean the drum with a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol, reaching it between Record Heads 1 and 2.
- Clean the heads by sliding paper between the heads and the drum while turning the drum.
- Lubricate the drum with the included Binson oil at the lowest speed setting; clean the mechanism if mechanical noise increases.

FAQ
Is this a real magnetic-drum delay? Yes — a custom alloy drum physically rotates past a set of recording and playback heads. It is not a digital emulation.
How is it different from the Replicator D'Luxe? Both are mechanical, real-media delays from T-Rex. The Binson Echorec records onto a rotating magnetic drum with four playback heads and a Repeat/Swell mode, for chiming, multi-tap repeats; the Replicator D'Luxe uses a moving tape loop.
Can I use a standard 9V pedalboard supply? No — the Echorec requires the included 24V DC / 300 mA supply (center-negative, 2.0 mm pin). Do not substitute a 9V or 12V brick.
Does the XLR output work with a mixer or PA? Yes — the balanced XLR input and output let you run the Echorec from a mixing console for studio work or live applications.
Where does it sit in my chain? It accepts instrument, effects-pedal and line-level signals, so it works after your drives, in an amp effects loop or on a console send. Set Record Level by watching the Magic Eye.
How do I stop the drum when I'm not playing? Hold the bypass switch for more than 2 seconds while in bypass and the drum stops.
Can I control drum speed with my foot? Yes — connect an expression pedal to the EXP input to sweep drum speed by ±20%.
