How does the Replicator D'Luxe compare with the Binson Echorec?
Both pedals are real-tape/mechanical echoes handcrafted by T-Rex. The Replicator D'Luxe uses a moving tape loop with one record head and two switchable playback heads (Short/Long) for classic tape-echo character. The T-Rex Binson Echorec is a magnetic-drum delay with four switchable playback heads and a Repeat/Swell mode — a very different mechanical instrument with its own famous voice made popular by David Gilmour. Both live on our site as separate models.

Is this a real tape echo?
Yes — a physical tape loop runs across a record head and two playback heads, producing genuine analog tape-echo behavior. It is not a digital emulation.
How long does a tape cartridge last?
In normal use, several hundred hours. Included is a spare cartridge; replacements are available from T-Rex.
How is it different from the Binson Echorec?
The Replicator D'Luxe uses a moving tape loop with two playback heads. The Binson Echorec uses a magnetic drum with four playback heads and a Repeat/Swell mode. Both are mechanical delays, but they sound and behave very differently — the Echorec is more forward, chime-like, and multi-tap; the D'Luxe is warm, saturated, and tape-modulated.
Can I use it in an amp effects loop?
Yes — engage Kill Dry to mute the dry path for wet-only send-and-return use.
Battery-powered?
No — the tape motor requires the included 12 V power supply.
