Description
Fuzz so heavy it had to be split in two. Crossover Fuzz sends your signal into two analog resonant filters at once: a thick roaring low pass fuzz and a ripping, snarling high pass fuzz, with the FREQ knob deciding where one ends and the other begins. Each band has its own gain and volume, and each can leave through its own output.
Which Death by Audio filter fuzz is this?

Crossover Fuzz is the two band one. Use it when you want the low end to stay huge while the top end screams, or when you want to send each band to a different amplifier.

Controls and switches
- FREQ sets the crossover point: the low pass side ranges from 30 Hz to 7.6 kHz and the high pass side from 80 Hz to 17 kHz.

- GAIN, once for LOWS and once for HIGHS, takes each band from clean through gritty overdrive to thick fuzz.
- VOL, once for LOWS and once for HIGHS, sets the output level of each band.
- An internal Light Switch behind the backplate swaps the LED set between Sky Light, which is yellow lows and cyan highs, and Cyber Light, which is red lows and blue highs.
- The footswitch uses active switching, so the pedal needs power even when the effect is off.

FAQ
How do I run it in mono? Plug into either the H or L input and take the output from the HIGHS MONO jack, which sums both bands.
How do I run it in stereo? Feed INPUT L for the low band and INPUT H for the high band, then take LOWS and HIGHS from their own outputs. One input into both outputs gives you mono to stereo.
Do I need special cables? Yes, use mono TS cables in the output jacks. The official Death By Audio FAQ notes that the output switching relies on the ring connection, so TRS cables will not work there.
Can I control the crossover with a pedal? Yes. The FREQ EXP jack takes an expression pedal or 0 to 5 V control voltage, and the FREQ knob sets the minimum frequency the sweep will reach.
Is it true bypass? No. It uses buffered, active switching and needs power to pass signal, so keep it on a powered supply rather than a battery only board.
How much current does it draw? The official product page lists 120 mA. The manual states 120 mA when engaged and 43 mA when bypassed.
Can I use it to split bass and guitar signals? Yes. Death By Audio lists amp splitting, stereo panning, instrument summing and bass separation as intended uses.
