About This Item
Description
The H90 Dark is the same two-engine Harmonizer that anchors serious pedalboards, finished in a limited all-black colorway: two of its 74 algorithms run at once, and the two inserts can sit anywhere in your rig.
Which Eventide Harmonizer is this?
The H90 Dark is a limited black colorway of the H90 Harmonizer. Functionally the two are the same platform: identical 74-algorithm library, the same dual-engine Programs, the same four inputs and four outputs, the same routing and the same 12V power requirement. The difference is the finish and the limited production run, and Eventide's own store already shows the Dark as sold out. If you want the same algorithm library in a compact one-algorithm-at-a-time pedal, that is the H9 Harmonizer Gen 2, and the H9 Max Dark is the earlier limited-edition generation of that compact format.
Why guitarists choose the H90 Dark
- Two algorithms run at once in every Program, in series or in parallel, so one pedal does the work of two.
- Two inserts can be placed independently in your rig, which means one engine in front of the amp and the other in the effects loop.
- 74 algorithms span reverb, delay, modulation, pitch shifting, granular, distortion and the Harmonizer+ vocal suite derived from the H9000.
- True spillover between Programs keeps reverb and delay tails alive across a change, which matters far more live than in a bedroom.
- Dual Mode handles two independent stereo signals or a four-cable-method rig without adding a switcher.
- The limited black finish makes it visually distinct on stage while behaving exactly like the standard model.
Controls and switches
- PERFORM footswitches Three footswitches for Program changes, preset and insert bypass with momentary states, and mappable functions including tap tempo.
- Display and encoders Show both running algorithms at once with direct parameter access.
- Exp/Ctl 1 and 2 Two 1/4" TRS jacks for expression pedals, aux switches of up to three buttons, or CV.
- Routing controls Series or parallel operation, independent insert placement and Dual Mode.
- MIDI and USB-C Five-pin DIN MIDI In and Out/Thru plus USB-C for control, updates and MIDI.
Power and pedalboard compatibility
Runs on a 12V DC center-positive supply through a 5.5 / 2.5 mm barrel jack and draws up to 1000 mA (1 A). A standard 9V pedalboard rail cannot feed it, so use the included universal 12V supply or a dedicated board output rated 12V at 1 A or more. Eventide does not publish a true-bypass claim for this platform: preset bypass and insert bypass are mapped to the PERFORM footswitches instead, with momentary states available, and the two inserts can be placed anywhere in the chain including an amp effects loop.

FAQ
Is the H90 Dark different from the standard H90? No, not functionally. It is a limited black colorway of the same platform, with the same 74 algorithms, the same routing and the same specifications.
Why is it harder to find than the standard model? It was produced as a limited run. Eventide's own store shows the Dark as unavailable, so stock is finite.
Will a 9V pedalboard supply run it? No. It needs 12V DC center positive at up to 1 A on a 5.5 / 2.5 mm barrel jack, so use the included universal supply or a dedicated 12V board output.
Can it run two effects at once? Yes. Every Program loads two of the 74 algorithms and runs them together in series or in parallel.
Is it true bypass? Eventide does not publish a true-bypass claim for the H90 platform. Preset and insert bypass are mapped to the PERFORM footswitches, with momentary states.
Does it work with H90 Control? Yes, over Bluetooth or USB-C from a computer or iPad, including importing and exporting User Lists.
