What's the difference between Jimi, Wacked, and Shaft modes? Jimi is the classic Vox Clyde McCoy voicing with a vocal midrange sweep, the sound of late-'60s Hendrix and Cream-era Clapton. Wacked is deeper and more Colorsound-like with heavier bass. Shaft is voiced for '70s funk and disco-style rhythm playing.
How is the Deluxe different from the CLYDE Standard? The Clyde Deluxe keeps everything on the original single-voice CLYDE Standard and adds two extra voicings (Wacked and Shaft), the 10-step Input Level control and the switchable JFET buffer with Buffer Level. Both use the hand-wound Fulltone inductor and true-bypass switching.
What does the switchable JFET buffer do? It is a transparent, fuzz-friendly buffer that keeps the wah from clashing with fuzz and high-gain pedals. Its Buffer Level knob adds up to +20 dB of clean boost, so the wah does not get lost in a busy chain. Switch it off when you do not need it. The pedal itself uses true-bypass switching, with a bright side-viewable LED.
Does the Input Level knob change the wah's character or just volume? It sets how hard the signal drives the wah circuit, in 10 steps. Higher settings give a more aggressive vocal quack and can add overdriven grit; lower settings tame the top end, which helps after a hot boost or overdrive.
Can the Q/resonance be adjusted? Yes. An internal Resonance (Q) trimmer sets how pronounced the wah's peak is. Most players leave it at the factory setting.
