What's the difference between Jimi, Wacked, and Shaft modes? Jimi is the classic Vox Clyde McCoy voicing — vocal midrange sweep. Wacked is deeper, more Colorsound-like with heavier bass. Shaft is brighter and sits higher in the sweep for '70s funk and soul rhythm work.
How is the Deluxe different from the standard Clyde wah? The Clyde Deluxe adds two extra voicings (Wacked and Shaft), a 10-step Input Level attenuator and a switchable JFET buffer/boost — none of which are on the original single-voice Clyde Standard. Same handmade Fulltone inductor and same true-bypass footswitch.
What does the switchable JFET buffer/boost do? It's a switchable JFET buffer with a small clean-boost/output-level control. Engaged, it drives the wah's signal cleanly and can add a touch of makeup gain so the pedal doesn't get lost in a busy chain. Off, the signal path is fully true-bypass.
Does the Input Level knob change the wah's sweep or just volume? The Input Level knob is a 10-step attenuator on the wah's input signal — not a volume control. Higher settings push the inductor harder for a more aggressive vocal quack; lower settings tame the top and are ideal after a hot boost or overdrive.
Is it true bypass when off? Yes. Fulltone Clyde Deluxe Wah Pedal uses Fulltone's own 3PDT true-bypass footswitch — the signal path is fully disconnected when the pedal is off.
Can the Q/resonance be adjusted internally? Yes — an internal Resonance (Q) trimmer lets a tech fine-tune how pronounced the wah's peak is. Most players leave it at the factory setting.
