About This Item
Description
The Hotone Pulze Control EC-2 is a cable-free, battery-powered MIDI footswitch built to sit at your feet while your Pulze or Pulze Mini amp stays across the room, with up to 12 hours of wireless control per charge.
Each of the two footswitches can send up to 16 MIDI messages (32 using A/B groups) as Program Change, Control Change, Note On or Note Off, with several trigger types per switch. Messages go out wirelessly, over USB-C or through the 1/4" TRS CTRL/MIDI jack, and the unit works in host or client mode to connect directly to a Pulze amp, Ampero II Stage or other compatible gear.
Why guitarists choose the Pulze Control
- Purpose-built pairing: Pulze Control is the wireless MIDI footswitch made for Pulze and Pulze Mini, and it also connects wirelessly to Ampero II Stage.
- No cable to your amp: control is wireless, so your feet stay free of a MIDI cable running back to a Pulze or Pulze Mini across the stage or room.
- Built-in rechargeable battery rated for 12 hours of use, charged over USB-C – the same USB-C port also sends MIDI when you do want a wired connection.
- One CTRL/MIDI jack does double duty: use it as an expression pedal or momentary footswitch input (up to 25 kΩ max pot resistance) or as a wired TRS-MIDI output when a converter cable is added for 5-pin MIDI gear.
- The mobile app offers ready-made Simple Modes for Pulze, Ampero and other devices, and a Pro Mode for full control over footswitch functions, trigger methods, MIDI messages and the CTRL/MIDI jack; firmware updates run wirelessly through the app.
Controls
- Footswitch A and Footswitch B – two assignable switches for MIDI messages and wireless pairing.
- Power switch – hold to switch the unit on or off.
- Recessed Reset button – force power-off with a SIM-card needle, for troubleshooting.
- Power/charge LED – green when charged, flashing red when low, solid red while charging.
- App and device connection LEDs – show app pairing and device connection status at a glance.
- EXP-pedal calibration – hold footswitch B at power-up, sweep the pedal fully at least four times, then press B to save.
Connections & Power
- CTRL/MIDI – 1/4" TRS jack for an expression pedal (max 25 kΩ), a momentary footswitch, or TRS-MIDI output. Devices with only 5-pin MIDI In need a TRS-to-5-pin converter cable.
- USB-C – charging and USB MIDI to a computer.
- Wireless – working range up to 7.5 m (about 25 ft).
- Power – built-in rechargeable battery, USB charging, up to 12 hours per charge.

FAQ
Which Hotone amps and processors does Pulze Control work with? It is made for Pulze and Pulze Mini, and it also connects wirelessly to Ampero II Stage. Other gear can be controlled over USB MIDI or the TRS-MIDI output.
What is the maximum expression pedal resistance it supports? 25 kΩ max pot resistance on the CTRL/MIDI jack.
How long does the battery last? Up to 12 hours on a full charge, topped up over USB-C.
Can I use a wired connection instead of wireless? Yes, the CTRL/MIDI jack can act as a TRS-MIDI output (a converter cable is needed to reach standard 5-pin MIDI devices), and MIDI can also be sent over the USB-C port to a computer.
What is the wireless range? Up to 7.5 m (about 25 ft) between the controller and the amp.
How do I calibrate an expression pedal connected to Pulze Control? Hold footswitch B while powering on the unit, fully raise and press the pedal at least four times, then press footswitch B again to save.
Can I control several devices at once? Yes, wired: run the TRS-MIDI output into a MIDI hub that accepts TRS MIDI input to reach multiple devices.
