About This Item
Description
The Meris Hedra stacks up to three independently pitch-shifted, tempo-synced voices to turn a single guitar or bass line into rhythmic arpeggios, thick harmonies, or pulsing textures.
Which Meris Hedra is this?
Hedra does not have a direct X-series successor. Many of its rhythmic pitch-shifting ideas carry over into the modular LVX delay engine, and Meris suggests pairing Hedra with LVX, Enzo, or Polymoon on the same board for compounded rhythmic and pitch effects.
Why guitarists choose the Hedra
- Three independently pitched voices turn a single note or chord into rhythmic arpeggios and thick harmonies.
- Tap tempo locks every voice's rhythm to your song without a MIDI clock.
- Per-voice pitch intervals span wide harmony and unison-detune textures in one pedal.
- 16 onboard presets store your favorite rhythmic-harmony settings for instant recall.
- Trails-enabled bypass lets pitched voices ring out naturally after you switch off.
- MIDI over the multi-function EXP jack unlocks full remote control with the Meris MIDI I/O.
Controls and switches
- Key / Scale (Alt) — Sets the musical key Hedra's pitch shifting is quantized to; Alt selects the scale (major, minor, and other modes) used for quantized intervals.
- Micro Tune / Pitch Correction + Glide (Alt) — Fine-tunes pitch in cents across all three voices; Alt blends pitch-correction snap with glide time between shifted notes.
- Mix / Delay Feedback (Alt) — Balances shifted voices against your dry signal; Alt sets feedback on Hedra's onboard delay for repeating pitched trails.
- Pitch 1 / Time Division 1 (Alt) — Sets the shifted interval for voice 1; Alt sets that voice's rhythmic time division relative to the tapped tempo.
- Pitch 2 / Time Division 2 (Alt) — Sets the shifted interval for voice 2; Alt sets that voice's rhythmic time division.
- Pitch 3 / Time Division 3 (Alt) — Sets the shifted interval for voice 3; Alt sets that voice's rhythmic time division.
- Mode select — Chooses Dual, Dual+Series, Series, or Pitch Feedback routing, changing how the three pitch voices combine and feed into one another.
- Tap footswitch / Half Speed (Alt) — Taps in the rhythmic tempo the three voices sync to; Alt engages half-speed timing for slower, more spacious patterns.
- Bypass footswitch / Pitch Smoothing (Alt) — Engages or bypasses the effect; Alt toggles pitch smoothing to reduce artifacts on fast passages.
Power and pedalboard compatibility
Hedra runs on 9V DC, center-negative, 2.1 mm barrel, drawing about 150 mA — well within range for a standard isolated pedalboard supply. A power supply is not included. The True Bypass relay is mono, so Hedra drops into any standard mono chain; with Trails enabled its pitched voices ring out naturally after bypass, and most players place it after modulation and before or inside a delay/reverb-heavy section of the chain. For instant preset recall or full MIDI control without a computer, pair it with the Meris Preset Switch and the Meris MIDI I/O.

FAQ
How many pitch voices does Hedra have?
Up to three independently pitched voices, each with its own interval and rhythmic time division, combinable in Dual, Dual+Series, Series, or Pitch Feedback modes.
Does Hedra have a direct X-series version?
Not a one-to-one successor. Its rhythmic pitch ideas carry over into the modular LVX delay engine; Meris recommends pairing Hedra with LVX, Enzo, or Polymoon.
Can I recall presets without MIDI?
Yes. The first four of Hedra's 16 presets are reachable with the Meris Preset Switch, and all 16 over MIDI with the Meris MIDI I/O.
Can I quantize the pitch shifting to a key?
Yes. The Key and Scale controls quantize all three voices to a chosen key and scale so shifted intervals stay musical.
Does Hedra have trails?
Yes. A global Trails setting lets pitched voices decay naturally after bypass instead of cutting off.
What power supply does Hedra need?
9V DC, center-negative, 2.1 mm barrel, drawing about 150 mA. A power supply is not included.
How do I add MIDI control to Hedra?
Connect a Meris MIDI I/O to Hedra's EXP jack with a TRS cable to convert standard 5-pin DIN MIDI.
