About This Item
Description
The original BeatBuddy — the pedal that started the hands-free drum machine category — reissued in a limited-edition matte black-and-gold finish to mark 10 years.
Which BeatBuddy is this?
The BeatBuddy family has three current pedals. The BeatBuddy 2 is the new-generation model with HD drum kits, Autopilot mode, and SuperSwitch support. The BeatBuddy 10th Anniversary Edition is the original BeatBuddy in a limited black-and-gold finish. The BeatBuddy Mini 2 is the compact drum-pedal-sized option with built-in content.
- vs. BeatBuddy 2: BeatBuddy 2 adds HD drum kits (up to 450MB per kit vs 100MB), a bigger 2.4-inch screen, full-size MIDI ports, SuperSwitch and expression-pedal support, and an on/off switch; the 10th Anniversary Edition preserves the original BeatBuddy's engine, 1.77-inch screen, PS/2 MIDI port (adapter needed), and Mini-USB port, in a special anniversary finish.
- vs. BeatBuddy Mini 2: The Anniversary Edition retains full original-BeatBuddy features — SD card expansion, MIDI (via adapter), USB, headphone output, and 24-bit stereo audio; the Mini 2 strips those out for a smaller, fixed-content, 16-bit mono pedal at a lower price.

FAQ
Is the 10th Anniversary Edition a different pedal from the regular BeatBuddy? No — it's the same original BeatBuddy hardware and feature set (not BeatBuddy 2), offered in a limited matte black-and-gold finish to mark 10 years of the product.
Does it include an SD card? Yes, it ships with a 4GB Class 10 SD card preloaded with content, expandable up to 32GB.
Can I sync it with other MIDI gear? Yes, via the PS/2 MIDI Sync port, but you need Singular Sound's MIDI Sync Breakout Cable (sold separately) plus a standard 5-pin MIDI cable to connect to other devices. The BeatBuddy can act as MIDI clock master or follow external clock.
Does it work on battery power? No, it requires the included 9V DC center-negative power supply; battery operation is not supported.
Can I power it from a pedalboard power supply? Yes, from an isolated 9V DC center-negative output that delivers at least 300 mA; a 500 mA output gives comfortable headroom. Never use more than 9V.
Can I add more footswitch control? Yes. The 1/4-inch TRS footswitch input accepts the Singular Sound Footswitch+ for accent hits, pause/unpause, song and genre navigation, and tap tempo.
How is this different from BeatBuddy 2? It uses the original BeatBuddy engine, smaller 1.77-inch screen, PS/2 MIDI port needing an adapter, and Mini-USB — BeatBuddy 2 has a larger screen, full-size MIDI ports, no USB port, on/off switch, and support for the newer SuperSwitch and expression pedal.
