About This Item
Description
A real 12AX7A preamp tube driving two identical channels — the TwinBlaze puts a two-channel tube amp's front end onto your pedalboard, with each channel independently switchable between Crunch and Lead voicings.
What makes the TwinBlaze different from a typical dual-drive pedal?
The TwinBlaze runs a real 12AX7A (ECC83) preamp tube on high voltage (200 V DC internal), giving it the touch response and harmonic bloom of a tube amp rather than a solid-state clipper. Two identical channels each have full six-knob EQ (Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble, Presence, Level) and a Crunch/Lead switch — effectively adding two footswitchable tube channels to your existing amp.
Why guitarists choose this pedal
- 12AX7A (ECC83) vacuum tube in the preamp path — authentic tube dynamics, not a modeled circuit.
- Two independent channels (A and B), each with a Crunch/Lead voicing switch, giving four core tones on the fly.
- Full six-knob EQ per channel — Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble, Presence, Level.
- Dedicated 20 dB clean boost with its own footswitch — great for solos or to hit an already-driven amp harder.
- Speaker-simulation output for direct-to-interface recording or FOH silent-stage rigs.
- Hand-built in Denmark.
Controls and switches
- Gain A / B — how hard each channel's tube clips.
- Level A / B — output volume per channel.
- Bass, Middle, Treble, Presence (per channel) — full 4-band tube-amp-style EQ per channel.
- Crunch/Lead switch (per channel) — voices the channel as a mid-gain crunch or high-gain lead sound.
- Boost knob — 0 to 20 dB of clean level lift.
- Channel A footswitch — engages channel A.
- Channel B footswitch — engages channel B.
- Boost footswitch — engages the clean boost.
Power and pedalboard compatibility
- 12 V DC only, negative-center, 2.1 mm barrel — dedicated 500 mA supply included.
- Current draw ~500 mA at 12 V DC (elevated because of the tube stage).
- No battery operation — the high-voltage tube stage requires wall power.
- Buffered bypass. Top-mounted jacks. Speaker-simulation output on the front panel lets you run the pedal directly into an interface or PA without a cabinet.

FAQ
Is that a real vacuum tube inside?
Yes — a genuine 12AX7A (ECC83) preamp tube running on 200 V DC internally, generated by the pedal's power circuit.
How is it different from a solid-state distortion?
It responds to your picking dynamics and guitar volume knob more like a tube amp — cleans up when you back off, gets fatter when you dig in — and its harmonic content changes with playing intensity.
Can I use it as a preamp for silent recording?
Yes — the speaker-simulation output lets you run the pedal directly into an audio interface or FOH mixer without a guitar cabinet.
Do I need to warm the tube up?
No lengthy warmup is required — the pedal is playable within a few seconds. Like any tube gear, treat it gently after transport in cold weather.
What is the boost voicing?
A clean, flat 0–20 dB level lift — it does not add tube coloration on its own. Great for solos over an already-crunching channel.
Warranty?
2-year manufacturer warranty.
