About This Item
Description
The Valeton VDS-1D puts a delay and a reverb in one compact enclosure, so a single pedal covers both on a small pedalboard. Each effect has its own footswitch and its own mix control, and you can run either one alone or both together, in mono or stereo.
The reverb section has three types — Hall, Plate and Spring — and a Shimmer/Normal switch that adds a Shimmer effect to the reverb. DECAY sets the reverb decay time, FILTER sets its brightness and warmth, and R-MIX sets the reverb level against the dry signal. Hold the RVB footswitch to freeze the reverb.
The delay section has three types: Standard, BBD and Tape. TIME/DIV sets the delay time, FB sets the number of repeats, and D-MIX sets the delay level against the dry signal. Hold the DLY footswitch to enter Tap Tempo; TIME/DIV then selects the note subdivision.

Pedalzoo Use Cases — Expert Tips
Suggested starting points from Pedalzoo. Adjust them to your guitar, amp and the rest of your board.
- Ambient pads: set the Shimmer switch to Shimmer, then hold the RVB footswitch to freeze a chord and play over it. Start with a low reverb mix so individual notes stay clear.
- Clean rhythm parts: Try Plate reverb with Tape delay, or choose Spring for a more characterful texture. Start with low delay feedback to add movement without crowding your chords.
- Delay in time with the song: hold the DLY footswitch to enter Tap Tempo, tap the tempo, then use TIME/DIV to choose the note subdivision that fits the part.
- Balance the two effects separately: R-MIX and D-MIX are independent, so you can keep one effect subtle and bring the other forward without changing the first.

- Inputs: L (Mono), R. Mono: connect to L (Mono) only. Stereo: connect both.

FAQ
Can I use the delay and reverb at the same time? Yes. Each effect has its own footswitch, so you can turn on one or both. R-MIX and D-MIX set the level of each.
How does Tap Tempo work? Hold the DLY (right) footswitch. The ring flashes green, and you tap the tempo on the footswitch. In this mode, TIME/DIV selects the note subdivision.
What does Freeze do? Hold the RVB (left) footswitch to activate the reverb freeze function. The ring lights solid green.
Can I use it in mono? Yes. Connect your instrument to the L (Mono) input and use the L output. For mono in, stereo out, connect the L (Mono) input and both outputs.
Is it true bypass or buffered? Bypass is selectable: True Bypass or Buffered Bypass. Whether the delay and reverb tails continue after you switch the effect off depends on the bypass mode; tails cannot be set separately.
Is a power supply included? Power supply not included. Use a 9V DC supply, center negative, with a 5.5 × 2.1 mm plug, rated for 300 mA or more.
What is the USB port used for? You can connect it to a computer to update the pedal's firmware.
What warranty does it have? 1 year. Warranty service in Canada and the United States is provided by Pedalzoo. Contact us at ca@pedalzoo.com.
